wednesday morning: on the mall

Ideally, it takes me an hour and fifteen minutes to get to work. The last 45 minutes are spent walking. By choice. I get off the subway at Downtown Crossing and walk to my office, which is located near Fenway Park. It’s roughly two and a half miles. The great thing about this walk is that Boston is an extremely walkable, not to mention picturesque, city. And I tend to vary my route from time to time.

This morning, I walked through the Common and the Public Garden, followed by the roughly eight blocks through the Commonwealth Avenue Mall.

Comm Ave and Berkeley Street.

Samuel Eliot Morison.

Upward.

Unemployment rates.

End of the line.

  1. I love walking in a city in the early morning. There was a time when my commute included walking through Hyde Park by the rose gardens as the sun came up. They smelled amazing!

  2. Very nice Chris. I miss walking in the big city. I used to love walking in Hartford or NYC. There is just something about a big city. Not sure what it was. Nice pic of the homeless…LOL
